Export the website, not your working files
Use the export or publish output from the tool that made the site. Confirm it contains an index.html file and its assets. Preview the folder locally if possible, then make a ZIP from the folder’s contents.
Start with the hosted URL
Upload the ZIP and inspect the live preview. This is the right time to check contact links, image galleries, a downloadable résumé, and the mobile layout. A preview gives you a place to verify the files before you change DNS for a domain you already use.
Connect the address you own
Once the preview is ready, add your custom domain in the dashboard and follow the displayed DNS instructions. Keep images optimized before upload: a focused portfolio loads better than a ZIP packed with uncompressed camera originals.
