You can deploy a simple static website from a phone if the files are already browser-ready. The difficult part is preserving the folder structure and verifying that the final ZIP opens with index.html where the host expects it.
Prepare files on your phone
Put the finished website in one folder in Files on iPhone or your Android file manager. It must include index.html and every referenced asset. Avoid an editor project file, a screenshot export, or a folder containing both source and output unless you know which folder is public.
Create and inspect the ZIP
- Use the file manager’s Compress or Create ZIP action.
- Name it clearly, such as
portfolio-2026-09-21.zip. - Tap the archive to inspect it. Confirm that
index.htmlis visible at the archive root or in one clear wrapper folder. - Keep a second copy in cloud storage or another local folder before uploading.
Upload without interruption
Open the dashboard in Safari or Chrome, choose upload or deploy, and select the ZIP from Files. Keep the browser open on stable Wi-Fi or cellular data until the result appears. If the picker only shows individual files, return to Files and make sure the ZIP is saved in a location the browser can access.
Test on the device visitors use
- Open the deployment URL in a private tab to avoid an old cache.
- Tap navigation, buttons, telephone links, and the contact action.
- Rotate the screen and look for overflow or hidden content.
- If the page is unstyled, open the CSS URL directly; it is likely a path or filename issue.
Mobile operating systems can hide file extensions and create duplicate-looking copies. Check the exact filename before upload. Do not paste API tokens into browser JavaScript while working from a phone: code delivered to a visitor is public.
